Descripción del Artista

Her work combines performance and experimental electronics with traditional media such as drawing and textile techniques. Currently her work explores the textile – technology relationship, showing a special interest in the interaction between material forms and social discourse. Muñoz has a special interest about the drawing and the looking for possibilities in the expanded field, thinking the drawing as a functional system, as a machine, as a code, language, etc. Her projects involves other fields of knowledge such as engineering, sociology, anthropology, design and technology. Her process is based in the interdiscipline and the DIY culture. Amor studied Law at the UNAM and at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. A two-time fellow at the FONCA Young Creative Program and also recognized in the Multimedia Production Center, Program for Production and Research 2010. She is currently a member of the National System of Art Creators. She has been a resident of ... the 2014 program of Nordic Artists’ Center Dale (Norway), in 2015 at Kultur Kontakt (Vienna) and in 2017 at the Bauhaus Dessau (Germany). Her work has been exhibited in various museums, galleries and festivals, such as: SFMOMA, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (United States); 21 Haus, Belvedere (Vienna, Austria); National Art Center, Tokyo (Japan); MUSAC, Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León (Spain); Laboratorio Arte Alameda (Mexico city); Prix Ars Electronica CyberArts Exhibition (Linz, Austria); Palácio das Artes em Belo Horizonte (Brazil); Jonathan LeVine Gallery (New York, United States); Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Artes, MUCA ROMA (Mexico City); Festival TRANSITIO MX_04, Centro Nacional de las Artes (Mexico city), among others. In 2012 she received an Honorable Mention in the category of Hybrid Art in the Prix Ars Electronica and in 2013 she received the New Face Award of the Japan Media Arts Festival. Her work has been published in the New York Times and awarded in the event Minds Quo + Discovery 2013.
